Sadhu Seva

The scriptures emphasize that all foodstuffs - grains, vegetables, milk, and even water - are supplied by the Lord for the sustenance of all living beings. Brahmanas and Vaishnavas, the enlightened class of society, accept only those foodstuffs that are first offered to the Lord in sacrifice. Such sanctified offerings are known as the mercy of the Lord, or prasadam. Sadhu Seva, the selfless service of saints and devotees, especially through offering and distributing prasadam, embodies this divine principle. Partaking in and rendering service through Sadhu Seva purifies the heart, cultivates humility, and helps one steadily develop Bhakti - loving devotion to the Lord.
